"Say (O Muslims), "We believe in
Allah and that which has been sent down to us and that which has been
sent down to Abraham, Ishmael, Isaac, Jacob, and to Al-Asbat (the twelve
sons of Jacob), and that which has been given to Moses and Jesus, and
that which has been given to the Prophets from their Lord. We make no
distinction between any of them, and to Him we have submitted (In Islam)."
--Qur'an 2:136
While we believe in all of the original revelations
as being from Allah, the Muslims do not consider the current books known
as the Old and New Testaments as the original revelations because of the
many contradictions and insults against Allah that they contain, many of
which were introduced by the church and religious authorities. Even if they
were true revelations, their followers are commanded by Allah to follow
none except the Message of Islam as was revealed to Prophet Muhammad [saws].
Their belief in these Books does not make them "believers", because they
must fully submit to Allah in Islam. This is the Covenant which Allah took
from all the Prophets. Thus, all of those who claim that they follow the
revelation to the Prophets, must abide with the Covenant. |
